Senior Backend Cloud Engineer
Systemsbuilt forserious volume.
I am Alejandro Carvajal, a senior backend cloud engineer building event-driven platforms, secure REST APIs, and distributed workflows across tax, fintech, energy, and commerce sectors.
Animated high-volume event-driven checkout flow from client through gateway and orders, through an outbox and event bus, to billing, fulfillment, and an idempotent ledger.
What I build
Distributed backend architecture with clean contracts and measurable outcomes.
Event-driven systems
Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, Temporal, Saga, Outbox, idempotency, and resilient message flows.
Cloud architecture
AWS ECS Fargate, S3, Aurora, RDS, deployment integration, and cost-aware elasticity.
Secure APIs
JWT, RBAC, OAuth, OIDC, SSO, contract-heavy request mapping, and service boundaries.
Backend delivery
Java, C#, TypeScript, Spring Boot, .NET, Node.js, NestJS, Express, and modular design.
Experience
From transaction-heavy platforms to workflow automation that holds up in production.
Senior Software Engineer
Munch / startupWorking on the real-time and workflow foundations of an early-stage gastrotech startup, shaping AI-ready service boundaries and dependable product experiences as the idea moves quickly.

ASP.NET / Spring Boot / SQL Server / Node.jsSoftware Engineer
ValidOptimized SQL Server procedures and introduced correlation IDs to make service behavior easier to trace and support.
ASP.NET / SQL Server / REST APIsSoftware Engineer
DigimarketingShipped REST reporting APIs and backend integrations that turned operational data into usable reporting workflows.
Spring Boot / Node.js / REST APIsBeyond the stack
Munch is an early bet on the next interface between intelligence, culture, and the table.
Gastrotech has a frontier because it barely has a name.
Munch is my long-view exploration of what happens when food, software, and human context are designed together. The goal is not to automate the soul out of the experience, but to make discovery, personalization, and participation feel more alive.
AI is moving from a tool we consult to a layer inside how we make, choose, and experience things. I want to be part of the pioneering work that connects that intelligence with taste, hospitality, and culture.
Define the field
Gastrotech is not a fixed category yet. That ambiguity leaves room to shape the term through real products and useful rituals.
Build the bridge
Recommendation, logistics, kitchens, commerce, and sensors are already moving. Munch brings those threads into one experience.
Explore what remains
The open questions are the interesting part: trust, shared context, creativity, and technology that still feels human.
GitHub / open work
A visible trail for the systems behind the Gastrotech Pioneer.
I keep selected work open so the thinking can be followed as it grows. Some projects touch food and culture directly; others explore the useful primitives underneath: Python, WebSockets, Kafka, Redis, and independent services.

HitCounter
A small but serious WebSocket playground: daily state, Redis-backed coordination, and a React surface that stays live.
